Let’s build this new world while cosplaying, singing and dancing together. Let’s party!
No Pan Night 2nd Heaven was the sequel event of No Pan Night, the GAINAX official anime-club event. The first No Pan Night was held February 26th 2011 in Akihabaras’ long established club “MOGRA”. It was the official club event for the anime “Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt (PSG)” created by GAINAX Co., Ltd.
No Pan Night succeeded in merging the current Club scene with the Anime/Otaku culture. In the past there have been Anime music oriented events held in clubs, but our aim was to create an event where “normal” Club goers and Otaku kids can both relate to and share the joy and excitement, and to bring the secluded Otaku culture out of their shells and into the public.
Seeing the success of the first No Pan Night, O.T! decided to hold No Pan Night 2nd Heaven in an epic proportion. They went from MOGURA – a venue of 100 MAX – to STUDIO COAST – Japans largest event hall which holds up to a crowd of 3000.
The extravaganza featured DJ’s like ☆Taku Takahashi and Teddyloid – renowned DJ’s in the Tokyo Club Scene and also the creators of the PSG sound track – with a special appearance by Aimee B and Debra Zeer who also sang on the sound track. The show featured the first ever Cosplay Poll-dancers show adjacent to a 2m mirror ball. And where else can you see girls running around in their underwear in a Club (mind you this was an all-age’s event!!)? Apparently running in your underwear goes under the category of “Cosplay” in an Anime Club event (referenced from the “Lingerie Run” scene in PSG).
And to attract the hearts of the collectors, special edition PSG T-shirts were sold limited only to at the venue (* see below for more info!) for that one day, plus a brand new release of the next line of PSG goods so you can be the first one to have it.
From DJ’s to Cosplay Poll-dancers to limited edition goods, the event was intended so that anybody could enjoy whether you like Anime or the Club scene. O.T! saw a very diverse crowd, even yielding media from France. Not to mention, even if you couldn’t come down to the venue, you were still able to enjoy since the event was streamed live on UStream.
Yet another success for O.T!... did I hear talk about a 3rd event?? To be continued….
